Pets Abroad is an international pet and animal immigration and travel services company situated in Johannesburg, South Africa. We specialise in getting your dogs & cats from Gauteng and surrounding areas to their final destinations abroad stress-free and with ease.
Our competent staff has 5 years of experience with the successful relocation of thousands of pets Internationally.
We understand that relocation is a very stressful and hectic exercise, therefore, our aim is to take care of ALL the requirements needed to get your pets to their new home swiftly and comfortably and without any stress.
We do this by offering a one-on-one, specialised and personal service. In this manner you are always dealing with the same person, re-assuring you that every detail of your pet’s relocation is taken care of.
Being a family owned business we regard your pets as our family and therefore we will be with you at every step of the relocation.

We used Pets Abroad to bring our three fur babies from Johannesburg, South Africa to Limassol, Cyprus. We dealt with... Tiffany and we truly cannot express enough just how many times over we would do it the same way again and how much we highly recommend Tiffany. Not only did she respond to me at every ungodly hour with all my millions of questions, between my husband and I, she was not only professional but so personable that she took the edge off an already stressful process. We had to split up the travel and bring one of our dogs (Boerboel) and then later receive our two dogs (Sharpei). Although we were already abroad when awaiting the arrival of our two, Tiffany went above and beyond to arrange the crates from our empty home to be collected and taken with them to my parents-in-law to fetch them. Our boy Cooper is extremely nervous and he was our greatest fear- Tiffany even made him a sign to explain that he may be reactive to strangers- again, above and beyond !!!🙏🏻 The photographs we received at loading and airport were priceless & even once they arrived, Tiffany was still in contact with us to ensure our babies were safe and settling in. Pets Abroad organised the transport for my two cats and two dogs from Johannesburg to Groningen, The Netherlands... 🇳🇱 the animals all arrived in wonderful spirits and the cats were as calm as if they'd just moved houses down the road! I highly recommend using Pets Abroad. The service they offered has been exceptional from the moment I requested a... quote. I had to leave (from South Africa) before my cats were allowed to travel and thus had to make arrangements from the Netherlands. The gent I dealt with always made time to answer my emails and my calls. When it was time for the cats to travel, they were collected, transferred to the commercial vet, checked in at the airport, and placed on a plane. I had received messages of every step in the process and received pictures of how my 2 fur buddies were doing. I was even notified at 11pm of the progress (I was amazed at the commitment). Once my cats landed, Pets Abroad continued to check in up until they were safely delivered to their new home. Finally getting around to sharing some love and well deserved praise to the team at Pets Abroad in SA. Vernon, Carmen... and Derrick - thank you so much for making this incredibly stressful and life-changing move that much easier for us all ... from blowing our Vets' socks off that you accompany the furkids to their last visit and guide them through the process of what needs to be completed on all the documentation (in the correct order and colour pen), to fielding a ton of messages from me via WhatsApp (often late at night), to sorting me out with an internationally compliant crate at the last minute (when it turned out that one of the three I had purchased could only be used on domestic flights), to getting it delivered to me to be decorated beforehand to Derrick arriving early to collect my furkiddies on the day of their departure! That's in addition to the standard offering of sorting out the State Vet and attaching original and copy docs and making sure everyone has everything they need! I loved the fact that you are able to pay the UK clearing fees upfront in Rands as part of the costs with Pets Abroad SA and avoid unforeseen exchange rate implications down the line. That on it's own would have been enough but then throw in the BA flight cost increases just weeks before our trip and the mad scramble to check other airlines, change routes and the implications of our animals landing at a different airport to us! Vernon negotiated and paid kennelling costs at Gatwick on our behalf as well as liaised with our UK driver when we were also left stranded in Jhb (as a result of the floods in Dubai) for another 2 days! It meant that our animals actually arrived in the UK before we did. Throughout, Vernon was just amazing, professional, helpful, kind and compassionate. You really went above and beyond and I could probably not give you enough praise to compensate for the sleepless nights and ulcer-inducing worry! We are eternally grateful to you all! 👏🙏🙌❤read more

I recently relocated my baby girl Miura, a timid little 1 year old cat, from South Africa to the UK. I was extremely... worried about the process and needed ALOT of reassurance that she will be okay. We are very grateful to Perts Abroad for getting our 2 miniature schnauzer's to us safely in New Zealand. Tiffany was... very patient with all our lengthy delays ( not related to Pets Abroad service) and the necessary correspondence back and forth. Pets Abroad kindly came out to re-measure our dogs to ensure the crate sizes were correct and even "upgraded" one of the crates so our big boy would be more comfortable. Pet immigration to NZ is not for the feint hearted and we are grateful to Pets Abroad for their expertise. I have no reservation in recommending them.read more

We had the best experience with Pets Abroad when we flew our 2 beloved furry family members (2 Siamese Cats) to Austin,... Texas from South Africa. We messaged Nicolie at all times of the day and she was amazing!! Honestly, the team made the process so much easier and were able to reduce the stress of our emigration by handling one of the biggest aspects of it entirely on our behalf. They literally made our lives easier, and did so in record time when we received last-minute notice that we had to book flights. We recently used Pets Abroad to transport our 2 Daxies from Joburg to Dubai. I can only highly recommend them. Not only... were they the most cost efficient agent we could find, but Tiffany was always quick to respond to my constant emails and was always so informative and reassuring! One of our crates was broken and Derrick assisted with fixing it. They helped transport our 14 year old blind and deaf dog, and went the extra mile to ensure he was comfortable for the long flight, which was a BIG stress for me. So glad we chose Pets Abroad! I’m not... a “regular person moving” but rather a person with approximately 30 years experience in international logistics so whilst the one thing I have not moved is animals, I can easily tell if you know what you’re talking about... Tiffany and the Pets Abroad team definitely and immediately made me realize that they were 110% in charge of what should have been a complicated move! Due to Covid we (the humans) experienced many delays but once we finally arrived in UAE, Tiffany and Vernon effortlessly set to work on “Operation Buddy” They made moving a brachycephalic dog (Boston Terrier) to the Middle East look easier than someone moving a dog to Cape Town! Unbelievable! You guys ROCK! Wouldn’t even look at another company EVER!
